I appreciate all the lore players write me, yes write me everything mother’s maiden name and pet dog, gimme all that. But then when a player gives me a surface level lack luster one? Im throwing in a mother they never heard of before because he was abandoned as a child. Then have her turn evil right before she was finally about to give you the love you missed out on as a child.

My character’s backstory is that he was given to an underdark monastery as a newborn as penance for his village being saved, he never grew up knowing anything but the stone walls. My DM has said he’s partway through my character quest and that he really likes how it’s turning out, which has me fucking terrified
