Before I teach anybody anything about PLCs, I teach them how to write what you need to do down in pseudocode in plain English statements, because if you can't write down what you want to do on a plain piece of English, don't implement it. then I teach them to finite state machine everything with clear interfaces. next Don't cram everything into one program/routine. separate the different parts out in separate routines and different pieces of the equipment in different programs.
