Idk if it’s a hot take or not but I think Ennis’ use of edgy writing has more hits than misses as opposed to Millar. Having that said I do love his cynical take on the genre

Garth Ennis is fantastic at writing Punisher and other non super hero related stuff. But The Boys is just shock factor for the sake of shock factor same with Crossed. Preacher is one of my all time favorite comics ever but going from that to The Boys and even the way he writes other characters in his initial Punisher Maxx run is just eye rolling.
