@realcharthistory: 1 year ago #DojaCat released “Jealous Type” as the lead single from her ‘Vie’ album. _ Doja Cat introduced the Vie era with “Jealous Type,” released on August 21, 2025 as the album’s lead single. Written by Doja alongside Y2K and Jack Antonoff, the disco-pop, funk-pop, and pop-rap track was first teased months earlier through her Marc Jacobs campaign. She later confirmed at the Met Gala that it would serve as a single from the album, before previewing the song again during her headlining set at Outside Lands. “Jealous Type” debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 3 on Hot Dance/Pop Songs. It also peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Global 200. In the UK, the song debuted at No. 13 as the highest new entry of the week, becoming Doja’s 19th top-40 hit in the country. It additionally reached the top 40 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, and the Netherlands. Directed by Boni Mata and filmed in Los Angeles, the accompanying music video leaned heavily into an ’80s-inspired aesthetic and arrived alongside the single. “Jealous Type” also earned a nomination for Song of the Summer at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, helping establish the retro-inspired direction of the Vie era. _____________________________ #JealousType #Vie #DojaCatMusic #popmusic
