I live in New York. My kids went to college got degrees - ones a teacher, one an engineer and ones in college. They all came back home for a year and saved, then got an apartment with friends split it. Then they realized they should’ve stayed home and saved more because now they just got married and bought a home and if they would’ve stayed home, they would’ve saved more.

Idk how anyone can afford rent making only 15 an hour. The cheapest rent I can find in an older run down building is 1200 a month.. at 15 an hour you’re making about 2400 a month before taxes, insurance, etc. you’d pay rent and utilities and not eat for the month?
