So most authoritarian dictatorships throughout recent history have been started through Socialism. The idea of socialism seems like the next step after capitalism, but the problem is with consolidating power to the government, which most socialist countries do. Now in some cases this has improved countries for a short time, but power corrupts, shortages cause famines, and the incentive for innovation and work declines. Now of course the West has meddled in the affairs of plenty of these countries, but there isn’t some unilateral destruction of all socialist countries from an external force. Plenty collapse on their own. People like to use the Nordic countries as their golden children of socialism, but don’t actually even understand what those countries are. First they aren’t socialist jsut a little more socialist than the US. Second they are crippling themselves in debts. And third they have vastly different sizes and cultures than the US.

Communism = no one is poor but no one is rich. Capitalism = Some can be rich and some can be poor. Socialism = some can be rich but no one can be poor.

A mix of socialism and capitalism is what actually works the best. A capitalist economy that is regulated and taxed by a socialist government that keeps up social services from taxes. Communism does not work, at all.
