I don't know. this is a whole messed up situation. I know when I got married I'm not divorced but no one from my ex-husband's family showed up. nobody rsvp'd either. I had broken my leg in multiple places 2 weeks prior and was in a wheelchair. nobody showed up. most of his family lived within 30 minutes of the venue. I had family fly in from Florida. my grandparents on the other side of my family couldn't come because my grandmother was diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple of weeks before. I understood that. but for his family to completely disregard our wedding and our invitations was ridiculous. and I know how lonely I felt that day. they needed to be on different days but I cannot tell you who needed to move.

My family may not have get togethers very often, we all live within 1 hour drives max. My GF though is amazed that when there is a sickness let alone a death, we all drop everything to be there for each other
