I used to do a lot of surfing in Southern California and one day. I paddled out pretty far from the shoreline, and I came across a dog that was completely exhausted and had lost its bearings. They can sometimes get confused playing in the water and then get pulled out in a rip current just like people. I grabbed the dog, put it on my surfboard, and paddled both of us back to the shore.
