i’m a day trader who had ZERO patience to wait for A+ setups. here’s how i got it back. i eventually realised my impatience wasn’t only a trading problem. The real problem was that my entire day was built around constant stimulation. social media, music, podcasts, youtube, netflix, checking my phone, doing multiple things at once. my brain had gotten so used to always having something happening that doing nothing started feeling uncomfortable. and then i took that same brain to the charts and wondered why i couldn’t sit still. why i entered early. why i switched timeframes constantly. why i moved my stops. why i took mediocre setups just because nothing had happened for 2 minutes. my brain wanted action. you can’t train your brain to expect stimulation every few seconds all day and then suddenly expect it to patiently stare at a chart waiting two hours for one A+ setup. so instead of only working on my trading discipline, i started retraining my ability to be bored, focused and still. things i changed: * drastically reduced social media * stopped constantly having music, youtube or podcasts playing * stopped multitasking * started doing one thing at a time * slowed down my mornings * practised sitting in silence for 5–10 minutes * reduced unnecessary phone time * deliberately spent more time doing slow things like reading, walking and simply being present and over time i noticed it showing up in my trading too. waiting became easier. i stopped feeling like every candle required a reaction. i could miss a move without immediately searching for another one. i could sit there and actually wait for the trade i wanted. if you struggle with patience at the charts, don’t only look at what you do while trading. look at what you are training your attention to expect during the other 22 hours of your day. try reducing constant stimulation for one week and see what happens to your trading. sometimes trading discipline starts long before you ever look at a chart. #tradingjourney #tradingtips #daytrading #trading #howtotrade
