I naturally do #2 in a lot of areas in a joking, almost roasting myself a little, way, and it ALWAYS results in an invitation for them to beginning say incredibly mean things to me. I don't know what it is about me that makes this ok, I always figured it was a poor form of flirtation for me, even though it feels very natural.

one thing ive noticed Amelia dimoldenburg does on her show chicken shop date, is whenever she accidentally obersteps she just... says the opposite of whatever was offensive. the "you're short" joke goes too far? then she'll just say "you're actually kinda tall." idk how but it seems to work every time
