He states that “most Palestinian Christians are blocked from accessing their holy sites,” including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre during major religious holidays and throughout the year. Dr. Al Kailani also highlights reported attacks against churches and members of Christian communities, as well as pressures affecting religious institutions, clergy and church properties. Citing a September 2025 survey, he notes that “54% of Jerusalem Christians feel unaccepted by Jewish Israelis,” while “42% in East Jerusalem feel unsafe” wearing visible Christian clothing and symbols.
