Mozilla tested the app itself and gave it 10 out of 10, the first perfect privacy score it has awarded. Murena 🇫🇷 is the commercial arm of a French nonprofit foundation. It sells phones running a version of Android with Google's apps and services stripped out, and university researchers found this system sends out essentially no data. It will even sell you a Google Pixel with Google removed. Vivaldi 🇳🇴 is a Norwegian company that makes a web browser and says it is employee-owned, with no outside investors and nobody to answer to but users. It has a tracker blocker built in, and its privacy policy says it stores no browsing data and sells nothing to third parties. Cryptomator 🇩🇪 is a German tool, free on computers, that locks your files on your own machine before they upload. Google and Dropbox still host them but only ever hold a sealed box. Its main competitor sold its technology to Dropbox and stopped taking new users. Big Tech runs on the opposite model. Companies like Google, Meta, Amazon, and the rest build detailed profiles of what you do and sell advertisers access to them. Companies built to hold nothing are rare, but these five prove they exist. Support companies who actually care about you. I hate to say this, but these companies don't sell your data , yet. Never forget Apple once prided themselves on being a champion for protecting the data of their customers and respecting their privacy. Not one company will ever care for its customers.

mullvad vpn's co-owner donated 5 million swedish krona (~452000€) to a racist populist political party this year btw so if thats concerning i'd recommend adding IVPN as an alternative :)
