This was part of the UK grunge scene mid to late 90s, we only bought cheap slips and styled with massively oversized cardigan and chonky loose laced boots

I kinda like some of them. But then slip dresses over a t-shirt with high tops or DMs were my vibe in the mid-late 90s. The D&G one just needs cycling shorts, DMs, and funky hair, and it would work for SOME evening ...events (cider in the park?)

us punks in the 80s reveled by wearing slips and camis as outerwear, but buying them marketed like this? feels like once again stealing from street culture.

They are beautiful nightgowns not dresses

We did this in the 90s to early 2000s. Paired with a leather jacket and combat boots.. or a jean jacket and chucks. Depending on your lean towards goth or grunge. Very comfortable!

If you really want a slip, you can find some pretty ones at the thrift store for under $10. Some vintage, some real silk. I would not wear it outside my home

we did this much better 30 years ago. Where are the doc martins and the big cardigans that go along with this?

I have said for years that dresses are just socially acceptable nightgowns. Guess I am right.

Yeah I'm not digging out those photos but I used to find satin (polyester) nightgowns as a teenager in the 90s and wore them with Doc Martins and a faux leopard coat. I'm not doing that again. They were too clingy and never warm enough and you could never get the smell of cider out.

Someone wore one of these to work, then we all ended up with an updated dress code.

I love them.. but not as fancy attire. I like it in a 90s grunge sort of way. needs fishnets and combat boots

This style is a layering piece IMO. Add a mesh sleeve, battle vest and a pair of tights. A belted flannel with a knee high boot. You get the idea. But on its own? No. To a formal event? Definitely

underwear don't belong at a restaurant or on the street I also can't stand people wearing pj's and slippers to the grocery stores
