@deadliestlift: Scene: A man lays face up in a dirty alley. The camera pans in on his face. The scene flashes back and forth between his dull eyes slowly closing and glimpses of the events that have brought him here. A child playing with the scooper in the sand pit. Flash. A man in a hard hat telling his child goodbye as he steps into the construction site, a massive crane looms over everything. Flash. Blood on pavement. Flash. A newspaper, featuring a front page article about a crane disaster. Flash. An acceptance letter to crane school. Flash. Cruel mockery from a classroom full of students. Flash. A young man crying in a stairwell. Flash. The young man breathes heavily in the operator’s cab, his hands tremble on the control levers. Flash. A violent, shaking scene as a crane tears through a building. Flash. Muffled sounds of laughter and ringing, a voice can be barely made out to say “I knew I liked the cut of your jib”. Darkness. A car honks. An eye opens. The man turns to the overturned dumpster and sees something gleaming in the trash. It is a carving of a black dog’s head, with a long snout and, sharp alert ears, faint Egyptian music begins to play. He feels compelled to reach out, and when his hands touch the carving there is a jolt of energy and he begins to scream. Flash. Power is coursing through his anatomy, it takes on a canine appearance and howls before diving into his very DNA. Night falls, the man awakes once more, this time with that dog in him. The camera pans to the full moon above him, framed by the silhouettes of the buildings on either side of the alley. He begins to tremble and writhe on the ground. Hair erupts from his hands, his arms, his neck. His jaw begins to elongate, but that is not all. All of him begins to elongate. He grows and grows, until he towers above the buildings, and lets out a howl. Cut to black. Words. HALF MAN. HALF DOG. HALF CRANE. Cut to black. CRANEDOG. Cut To Black. November 2026.
