@dweetle: It looks like free electricity. But there’s a catch. ⚡🧲 Magnets can absolutely be used to generate electricity — but the magnets themselves aren’t creating energy from nothing. The key is electromagnetic induction. When a magnetic field changes relative to a coil, it can induce an electrical current. That same basic principle is behind generators used in power plants, wind turbines, and many other electrical systems. But there has to be an energy source driving the motion. Friction, electrical resistance, mechanical input, and other losses also affect how much usable energy comes out. So a setup like this can demonstrate some very real and important physics — but it can’t produce unlimited electricity without energy going in.
