Usually agree with everything you say but I have to disagree on this one. As someone who does this, it doesn’t come from a place of judgement. We are very open-minded of how our feelings don’t determine the absolute truth of a situation. If something hurts us or we’ve been hugely disappointed by someone we try to see the bigger picture and put ourselves in the shoes of those who hurt us to understand that there are other logics, other common senses… Therefore when we “nitpick” at what you’re telling us it doesn’t come from a place of criticism but from a place of trying to give clarity to a situation that probably isn’t black or white

I had a rough social fall out from a failed creative project that mattered to me and I remember every time I had a ‘friend’ tell me to let it go because ‘f those people’ instead of understanding that I lost something that took a lot of effort and was special to me. Like thanks for minimizing all of it.

Literally just happened to me last night with someone I recently started talking to. and immediately decided that I do not want them in my life. Mind you he talked about his life and all of his stories for an hour at nauseam and he was met with grace and understanding
