The fact that he told you in advance, and that you knew this was the man's safe space. And you continued to act in a manner, that got him, a regular, kicked out, should have real implications to the friendship. If you are extremely close friends, a probation period to make sure you dont repeat disrespect like this regularly, as well as him being allowed to use this in arguments from now on. And you owe him a surprise meal doesn't have to be expensive just when hea hung over. If you are a casual friend, or a friend of a friend, you need to be exiled.
