No, gratuity is for the benefit of being served dining in. To add gratuity to a pick up order is bogus

Everyone is tired of this tippy s***. It's their company's responsibility to pay their employees, not us

Absolutely not!!! These restaurants are responsible for paying their employees and if the employees except low wages then THEY get the paycheck they agreed to!! And don’t want to hear about prices will increase , bc prices are already high in most cases, so SOMEONE is profiting!! And this goes for ALL service based positions!! America is out of control with tipping/gratuity fees! I’ve traveled to quite a few countries and their wages are wayyyy lower than America’s, but they don’t expect anything extra; but GRATEFUL when given!!!

Automatic gratuities although called that are legally categorized as a ‘service charge’ regardless of what the restaurant calls it. Calling it a gratuity is confusing as to what they are doing under the law. The difference is that gratuities by law must go to certain employees. Service charges can be distributed at the discretion of the restaurant.
