I truly believe we need a great reset. It probably sounds too extreme or radical, but I believe the root of the problem goes deeper than just whoever holds power. I’ve lived here for 24 years as a lower-middle-class Indonesian, and I’ve seen enough to believe that the problem is also the people and systems surrounding those in power, the law enforcers, lawmakers, institutions, and even society itself. Sometimes I feel that those 32 years under one regime were one of the worst periods for us, and sadly, we still haven’t fully recovered from it. I’m not a historian or a political expert. I’m just like you guys.. a normal Indonesian citizen trying to make sense of what’s happening around us.
