people who drown from rip currents can't swim. I was stuck in a rip current as a kid, I just wam back to shore, whenever I got tired I stopped to float.

That’s a small ebb current… not a rip . You certainly don’t want to be caught in a big river ebb current… they push you out kilometres and get wider as they slowly weaken .

It all depends what you mean. Most people can’t swim well. Most people swim a little and think they are capable swimmers. If you can’t swim for a few hours then you’re not a strong swimmer. Just my opinion.

He wouldn't stay on top of the water like that. I got sucked into a rip like that and was dragged underwater for so long my ears popped and I could barely make out the light from the surface
