@besalatau: Ea-naṣir was a Bronze Age copper merchant who lived in the Mesopotamian city of Ur (in present-day Iraq) around 1750 BCE. He became famous not because he was a king or a warrior—but because he received what is widely considered the oldest surviving written customer complaint. The complaint was written on a clay tablet in cuneiform by a customer named Nanni. Nanni accused Ea-naṣir of: Selling poor-quality copper ingots instead of the promised high-quality copper. Treating his messenger rudely. Failing to honor their business agreement. One memorable part of the complaint says: “You put ingots which were not good before my messenger…” The tablet was discovered among many business records believed to have come from Ea-naṣir’s house in Ur. Interestingly, archaeologists found multiple complaint tablets, suggesting Nanni may not have been his only unhappy customer. #mesopotamia #eanasir #iraq #funny
Imagine how mad you have to be to write a complaint on a clay tablet.

If Ea-Nasir were alive today, his copper would be 99.99% pure, thanks to modern industrial refining techniques. However the copper would probably be sourced mainly from construction sites and EV charging stations at 3 in the morning.
