@digital_journey26: There’s a side of being over 50 nobody talks about… Watching your kids struggle financially while you’re trying to prepare for your own future. You want to help them. You want them to have a better life. But you can't keep carrying everyone forever. That realization hit me hard. I knew I needed to create another option for myself. Not just for me—but for the people I love. If you’ve ever felt this, you’re not alone. #over50 #50plus #financialfreedom #genx #retirement

What’s also not talked about, is how us kids feel guilty that we’re not stable enough to let y’all rest while knowing we’re trying our absolute hardest. Feeling like a burden to the people who deserve rest the most.

I get real tired of the "work harder, budget better" rhetoric. Bought my first house with an entry level job. That same job doesn't even rent a 1 bdrm apt today. Our kids are not living in the same world we grew up in.

THIS. And watching their self esteem and hope plummet and anxiety skyrocket because they think they’re doing everything wrong. 💔

My husband is 73 and retired from a professional job. What’s he do five days a week? Drives a school bus so we can have health insurance. What is wrong with this country??

It’s so refreshing seeing someone your age acknowledge our struggles. We’re always looked at as if we’re “lazy” and don’t want to work but the reality of it is, WE ARE TIRED. no matter how much we work or where, it’ll never be enough with inflation.

I am saddened for the young adults just starting out. It’s so unfair right now.

Boomers have been voting for 50 years. Welcome to their results. You wont retire. Neither will your kids. Vote accordingly.

The younger generation got it worse than we do when it comes to employment. I use to quit a job and find one the same week back in the late 90s early 2000s

When I was their age rent was $250- $425 tops with utilities included. $100-250 food and bills. Making $1200-1400 a month. Used car $600-$2000. Still could save. It's different for them now with prices.

GenX is taking care of aging parents and 20-something kids. Nobody will be there to take care of us. We're the overlooked generation, the passed over generation, the forgotten ones.
