As a teacher I hate the term SEN. It’s too large and covers too many people. The needs a dyslexic child has are completely different to a non verbal Autistic child yet they are both SEN.

I agree in the sense that one child could be horrible and beat up other kids and the mums like “sorry he’s got ADHD” oh ok no worries 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

Honestly, it’s becoming so hard for kids without need to get any suppprt at school as all the teachers and TA’s time is taken up with Sen kids and yet parents still co plain when they are called because school can’t meet need when they’re booting off and putting other kids in danger. Yet they get paid to be “carers” a lot of the time. Worlds gone mad!

the parents that dismiss extreme violent behaviour becuase they have sen needs are creating a scary world! my child has autism but will face consequences for anything that should have them jsut the same as a child without needs becuase in the big bad world

No I agree 100% as a mam that has a Sen child, it’s really opened my eyes to other Sen parents and thinking their kids are more entitled to things in life.

I've just watched a video of a mum ranting because cupasoup have changed their packaging and how it effects her SEN child.. I get what shes saying, but surely companies cant stay static purely because of a small minority

My son is autistic, I don’t even label myself a sen parent; just a parent! Days behind closed doors are hard, I don’t think the world owes my child anything. So I agree with this statement .. and I don’t care who comes for me!

I think it’s one thing to expect and to advocate for *reasonable adjustments* and inclusion, but I also teach my children resilience and boundaries.

This is actually ridiculous statement specially if you have a Sen child… your Sen child is entitled to go everywhere and do everything and YOU as a parent accommodate for that! Sen kids need extra help support and guidance! My eldest is 8 and has an EHCP plan extra support and curriculums due to his ASD and ADHD… if you have this mind set that your child can’t do everything a normal child can then your child is missing out on their full potential.
