🪷 Karīma [كَرِيمَة] :
I've seen a post thread about how because of things like racism or sexism, it closes off a lot of allowances in art. I have seen BDSM artists get bashed for drawing things like collars on black characters because of times of slavery, or home brew artists drawing a female character cooking and getting bashed because of times of heavy misogyny. Because of implications and the history of minorities, SO many things are heavily criticized in art.
.
POC can't be kinky, or be drawn in any cool metallic, chains, or certain wrappings, female characters cant be overly submissive, overly feminine coded or atuned. LGBTQ characters can't have implications, lesbian OCs can't have flaws of aggression, Gay OCs arn't able to be bad with kids or be creep coded even with backstory.
.
I'm a female muslim and can't make a female muslim OC whos submissive due to the issues of womans oppression in cultural places like Afghanistan.
.
It's bad that yes, these ARE real life issues, historical events, and things that are important to be aware of, but forcing them onto all artists accidently makes things VERY close minded. Assuming characters or people arn't allowed to like, enjoy, or be certain ways simply because 'in the past', 'in real life', or 'because if the stereotypes-' ect.
