@romaniairl: In 2017–2021, an organized criminal group stole diesel and other fuel worth around $2 million from the U.S. military presence at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base in Romania. The case was investigated by Romanian prosecutors. The group reportedly targeted diesel generators at the base and also stole fuel from areas used for military exercises in Constanța County. Romanian authorities questioned seven suspects after a U.S. government complaint. The case became notable because the theft continued for about four years at a heavily secured military facility.
