I child has Sen needs he can’t cope with crowded places so taking him on holiday in term time we can’t do my son would absolutely hate it and struggle so I take my son out of school

My school hate it..the fine should be used for repeated absence. I take my son to centre parcs for 5 days once a year and I can't afford £1400 out of term time. it's precious time to enjoy family time. it's important too. my dad took us out to a theme park during school time and I still remember a great day. i really hope the fine rules change to help lower income families

She’s an idiot for that opinion 😂 whilst I do understand why they are doing it but instead I think if you child has good attendance it should be allowed perhaps this would encourage parents to send their kids to school unless really ill. If we go away next July at the beginning (half term starts the 21st or 22nd I think) but to go the first week- about the 15th July were we are planning for 10 nights it’s £2000ish, to go the 20th it’s £2800 to go on the 22nd or 23rd it’s nearly £4500!!! That’s the issue IMO. Shouldn’t be allowed xx
