2v and 4v are the reliable ones not the 3v my 2004 f250 2v had over 500k miles and started nocking and I just swapped it to a 234k mile engine for 300$

That’s a 2v. The way he tightens the camshafts against spring pressure is the wrong method for torquing them. He could easily break a cap, or even the camshaft against spring pressure.

The 5.4 3V is actually kinda peak. Not as good as a 5.0. But just delete the VVT system and don’t run two piece plugs and it’s a killer engine
