I'm about to send this to my old professors, this kind of stuff should be shown to Architecture and interior design students. We were given the ADA bathroom book but we weren't taught the humanity of how a disabled person uses the space and that's an important part. Form follows function is a fundamental of good design.

The amount of people asking why not just get an ostomy makes me think they don’t really know what an ostomy actually entails lol. It requires major surgery to create a stoma by bringing part of the intestine through an opening in the abdominal wall, followed by ongoing care and management of the stoma and ostomy bag. They can also have complications like leaks, skin irritation, blockages, hernias, prolapse, etc. It’s not exactly a simple alternative you can just opt for 💀

My Uncle has been a paraplegic since I was one week old, and I have never once in my 29 years even considered he can't shit normally. Like I've always known about the catheter bag, he lived with us the first 10 years of my life. It's probably wayyyyy to late to ask any of my family about it now 😂
