Did this once while excusing myself for a bathroom break. Found our server, gave her my card, settled it. We were in the car, halfway to our dessert spot before she noticed that I didn't physically receive the check. She thought we dashed until I showed her I had the receipt. We had a good laugh about it, among other things 🫢
