@cbsnews: As a defense witness in the 2006 retrial of Andrea Yates, the Texas mother who killed her own children to "save them from Satan," Dr. Phillip Resnick testified that severe postpartum psychosis caused Yates' behavior. she was found not guilty by reason of insanity in her case. Today, he took the stand for the defense in Lindsay Clancy's trial and testified that Lindsay "did not have control of her own body" after hearing the command to kill her children. "It was almost like she was a puppet and someone else was pulling the strings," he said. The prosecution, however, called their own expert witness, Dr. Avram Mack, who said Clancy "was suffering a major depressive episode."

Does that mean that a man who claims psychosis due to hallucinations and voice commands is also able to use this defence. Without the post partum element?

but they want to put kids and their parents in jail for school shootings when they have benefits bullied, and had mental illness so what's the difference? if you kill your children or if anyone kills your children the murder should go to jail or death penalty, I don't care what race you are!

Prosecutors cross referenced the first doctor and the timeline of psychosis was so up in the air it’s almost impossible for it to be credible, “some scholars say it can happen only up to the 4 week mark some say a year some say 3 months.. “ so what is it? Are we making things up? He also testified that she was able to change and control herself more depending on her surroundings and who she was with. Lock her up
