Well he did kidnap the babies to bring them to yhe woman who tried to breastfeed those babies the day they were born. i definitely would not trust him to have unsupervised visitation with them. All his mother would have to do is slightly guilt trip him and he'd bring those babies over to her.

Participating in the kidnapping plot in and of itself is grounds for no custody. Supervised visits should be required after that behavior. He’s lucky he’s not being charged with anything, because he absolutely could be.

There's going to be a moment where Charles is speaking with his mother and she says something similar to what's he's saying and he's going to hear himself. Realize I'm in the wrong, let's try to meditate again. He's going to sit with himself and realize he messed up a good relationship for his mother. Eventually he'll cut his mother off, blaming her for the destruction of his marriage. It will be too late. Beth will have moved on with a really good man who loves her and the kids like they were their own.
