@mosheh: Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, told their 18-year-old daughter they did not want her attending Harvard, arguing the university could undermine the Catholic values they spent years instilling in her. The debate unfolded on the couple’s new reality series, “The Great American Road Trip,” after Paloma — one of their nine children — considered what she would do if accepted. “If I do get in, I feel like you can’t say no to Harvard,” she said. “Yeah, well, me and mom can say ‘no,’” Duffy replied, warning that Harvard had “professionalized” how to “corrupt” the minds of young students. Duffy later wrote in a Fox News op-ed that he had no interest in paying a school to “undo” 18 years of Catholic upbringing. But after speaking with a Catholic chaplain at Harvard, the couple agreed Paloma could attend if accepted. In the series finale, Paloma learns she was accepted to the University of Chicago, where she appears set to enroll. The Duffys’ return to reality TV marks a full-circle moment: Sean and Rachel first met while filming MTV’s “Road Rules: All Stars” in 1998, after each had appeared on separate seasons of “The Real World.” Their concerns reflect broader skepticism about higher education. Gallup found confidence in U.S. colleges has fallen to 38%, with political bias and tuition costs cited as the leading reasons.

The look on her face is heartbreaking. When in real-time, you realize your parents aren’t just “annoying”… they’re literally and clinically insane.
