No, they are *correctly* pointing out a hypocrisy and double standard in the way YOU’RE interpreting the Bible. You are taking the verses about dress/makeup literally (and condemning others for not interpreting them as such) while clearly NOT doing so on the topic of divorce (which, if we are interpreting Jesus’s words as literal, abuse would not be a reason for divorce). Maybe the fact that you realize the topic of divorce *should* be allowed in some cases, despite those verses, should make you stop and wonder why you don’t hold clothing/makeup in the same subjective light. 🧐

I don't agree with this person's comment its vulgar and rude, however if makeup is not a salvation issue or something damning people to Hell, I genuinely beleive it's worth being more patient with people even if it is something that happens to be an idol in someone's life. Giving personal testimony and encouragement is great but you always have fresh viewers seeing this stuff and when you always resort to immediately sticking them with "oh you're in idolatry" it's a little bit of a slap in the face especially to the people that just struggle ya know. Personally I don't wear makeup, except like a lipsmackers or the equivalent here or there, but there's so much joy I could speak on in loving the person God made you to be that I feel it could changes hearts without ever even digging people with their own shortcomings and insecurities. Because you're a smart person, so you have to understand a lot of people's initial venomous reactions on this subject matter is their insecurities surfacing and when you just poke them with your statements of equivalency to "you just don't love God enough to give up your idols and follow him" it's gonna cause people to be even more venomous right back because all you do at that point is throw salt in their wounds. I understand you're very passionate about this but as Christians we can show compassion without condoning something we don't agree with. Having the patience to reach people where they're at even when they don't understand it is seriously the highest form of love because it's what Christ did for us, taking on a form at a level we could understand even when he was so much greater than us.

I’m sorry about your divorce, and I don’t think anyone should have said this to you. A man should never abuse his wife. I hope life treats you well and God richly blesses you. I do think how you dress and not wearing makeup is attributed to some trauma you’ve been through or a personal conviction. I feel God doesn’t want us to draw attention to ourselves or be a Jezebel, but I don’t think accentuating your natural beauty is wrong. God bless
