Physical folders, mugshot of the recruit, info sheets, scoring sheets, letters of rec, letters of intent, letters of concern…the dirt in Manila was the stuff. Hours of reviewing and scoring. I served as sergeant at arms. I lead product standards and development for my company now.

Rush is set up so wrong - need to change the process. Make it a whole semester. This would allow the sororities to vet the PNM’s but it would also allow the PNM’s to get to know the sororities and truly connect with them. It shouldn’t be just a “status” symbol. It should be a “sister hood”:or it’s all bullshizz

my daughter was a basement girl because she’s awkward as the day is long. Her sophomore year she asked people what type of milk they would like to be. So then she became a basement girl. And she absolutely loved it.

I taught a course for our intelligence and security studies program on fundamentals of analysis. I learned about basement girls, although not by that name, and when I saw how amazing they were at sussing out misbehavior I instantly thought how great they'd be in spy agencies.

See, had I known doing good in school and getting into a sorority had a benefit (other than a popularity contest), I would've put in some effort. It just seemed like a waste of potential to me.

Also, at a lot of campuses outside of the SEC where the chapters are smaller, PNMs move in. So you’re effectively giving randos access to your home, personal belongings, chapter antiques… all in addition to reputation. It’s not just managing perception, but risk and security/safety.
