personal vent if ur interested - so I got on here a WHILE ago talking about a personal situation. And while I’m aware that in doing so I open myself up to public opinion? It’s still odd to me when someone tries to pew pew a non thriving horse month after month after month. So there’s been these comments from this “John” guy and maybe that’s not even his real name or account. Either way, they keep bringing up how my boyfriend “lets me sleep with other men”. And there’s a few things wrong w that statement that I’d like to clear up, for my own psyche but also for genuine public clarity (since I did talk about it). 1. Levi “let me” sleep with ONE person that he understood I had unclosed emotions with. We are so secure w the fact that we’ll be with each other for life that we decided to experiment with a form of “poly”. Not something we invented btw! So 2. Poly exists and it did so before monogamy. 3. This is something both Levi, AJ (yep just gonna say his name now), and I all consented to trying out. 4. Poly is a BROAD spectrum. There are many types. Levi “let me” get with this ONE person because I really found something special in them. And it wasn’t just supposed to be sleeping w them. I despise “John” making it sound that way. I wanted a whole creative partnership with this person because that’s what we had going on before. 4.5. Sure, Levi and I find people attractive but we aren’t just getting with anyone we see. 5. In the end, AJ couldn’t handle that because he lacked basic comprehension and communication skills. The whole experience put in perspective just how much I love Levi because of his ability to learn from his mistakes, his communication skills, the freedom he allows me to have especially within a patriarchal society, and much MUCH more. It also showed me how much he loves me. Which w all my trauma is pretty hard. And THAT makes it REALLY easy now. Like he genuinely doesn’t regret that and treats me just the same if not BETTER. We know a lot of people would read this and not get it. That’s fine. A lot of people would rly benefit from understanding that some relationships just aren’t for other people to get. Maybe that’s dangerous for me to say. I hope not. I can see how people could misuse that, then again people have a tendency to misuse just about anything.
