$A 6-year-old Maryland boy was rushed to the hospital after being found unresponsive. But investigators say what happened before that moment was far more disturbing. Brian Graham D*ed after Baltimore police and medics responded to his home on Aug. 21, 2024. His mother, Jalesia Offer, and her boyfriend, Brandon Wheatley, both 34, were later arrested. According to charging documents, Offer admitted physically punishing Brian after she believed he had taken money from her wallet. She allegedly smacked and punched him with a closed fist multiple times. Investigators say Wheatley then continued the physical punishment. Days later, Brian was found unresponsive in a bathtub. Offer reportedly told police that Wheatley had taken the boy into the bathroom for a shower. She said she later found Brian unresponsive in the tub and Wheatley slumped on the floor. But the medical findings raised even more questions. Authorities said Brian suffered a damaged liver, multiple fractured ribs, and internal Bl*eding in his head and torso. Investigators also said the bath water measured 128 degrees Fahrenheit. Wheatley allegedly tried to explain Brian’s bruises by saying the child bruised easily. Police also found Brian’s 8-year-old brother at the home with facial Inj*ries and unable to move his left arm. Child Protective Services took him into custody. Brian’s D*eath was ruled a homicide caused by blunt-force trauma. Offer and Wheatley were charged with first-degree child Ab*se resulting in D*eath and held without bond.
