@lunardelight.com: Just for fun 🌒 a different way to look at the eclipse on 28 August. From Earth it's a partial eclipse — 93% of the Moon covered, a bright sliver hanging on at the edge. Turn it round and stand on the Moon, in Clavius crater 🌘 From there Earth covers the Sun completely, for two and a half hours. Our planet is nearly four times the Sun's width in that sky, so it takes its time crossing. While it does, Earth's rim lights up 🔴 Sunlight bent through the atmosphere, coming from the narrow band of the planet where the Sun happens to be on the horizon at that moment — dawn along one edge, dusk along the other. That ring is the only light still reaching the Moon, and the reason an eclipsed Moon glows red instead of going black. Its colour is traced ray by ray through a clean, cloudless atmosphere ✨ Earth doesn't have one of those, so treat the exact shade as provisional — we'll know once somebody's standing there. #LunarEclipse #Eclipse2026 #Moon #Astronomy #Skywatching #Space #Clavius
