when the city of Houston annexed Kingwood, Kingwood went down in standard. a perfect example is when I moved to Kingwood, the Kingwood township mowed the right of way weekly to keep the entrances on Kingwood and Northpark drive beautiful. when it became annexed into the city of Houston, the right of ways were mowed by the city of Houston on the same schedule as any other Urban part of Houston. so the quality of our right of ways went down. sidewalks were repaired immediately before we were annexed, after annexation sidewalks stayed damaged for a much longer period of time. community amenities like the green belt were put on the back burner for the City of Houston where is it was a front line item for Kingwood when it was its own township. Houston really annexed Kingwood for the water, and there is something that the woodlands has that they want.
