@klkbuilds: My concrete patio had sunk almost 3 inches and was sloping TOWARD my house. Years of uncontrolled gutter drainage caused the slabs to settle, which just made the drainage problem even worse. So I tore out both corner slabs and rebuilt everything from the ground up. I jackhammered out the old concrete, installed underground gutter drainage to carry the water down the hill, replaced rotted deck posts, raised the new posts above the finished concrete on steel brackets, added rebar dowels into the existing foundation, formed everything up, and poured two new slabs with my dad. A lot more work than just replacing some concrete, but now the actual cause of the problem is fixed too. #ConcreteWork #BackyardRenovation #DIY #HomeImprovement #Construction

bro if you're going to go through all that trouble please next time use PVC pipe especially if you're not using a sock on the corrugated. it's not a matter of if but when it gets clogged and crushes.

Bro for a slab of concrete you need at least 12 inches of gravel. Laid down.

2 notes. 1 I am fairly sure that the discharge point that you've made for the rainwater isn't legal. at least, not here in Australia. I'm not a plumber, but I'm fairly sure it needs to be connected to the main drainage pipe that goes to the street. It seems extremely dodgy to me to just be dumping rainwater into your garden like that. if there's a proper plumber here id like their opinion on the matter, but this is from my little knowledge of the matter. 2. no rebar for the concrete?? wouldn't that just crack again 😂

Great vid thanks for posting , in New Zealand we always have to use plastic sheets with taped joints , steel , mesh or rebar , we are allowed to use fiber mix I the slab is no thicker than 3 inch , also if near the ocean we have to use stainless steel brackets and fixings or at a minimum galv , just interested why no plastic sheets or steel , maybe you used fiber in you cement mix

How did you secure the bottom if the posts to the footings? Is the concrete the only thing holding it from any lateral forces?

Ouch. Those corrugated pipes will eventually break down and you’ll be doing this all over again

Why would your tie rebar into house but no where else? Rebar gives it strength

This is the best demo I’ve seen in awhile . There was not rip shit and bust. He took the time to ensure all fixed areas were separated from the posts etc so there was no pressure on anything and then proceeded to actually hand demo careful removal . ❤️Nice
