All right now child… get a hold of yourself… I have two teenage daughters, have seen this happened to them and what caused it, and the solution. Everyone is so self-conscious in high school especially the girls., image and perception are everything!! no one wants to be the first to say hello, no one wants to be the first to reach out to someone new.. but see..you have to, take something you’re interested in, join the corresponding club, try a sport.. do something to get into a click, a club, a team.. because when you do, you will have instant new friends.. reach out side of your comfort zone.. wear a smile on your face, say hello to people and comment on their shoes… Clothes… Hair… You will pass through this phase and be fine.. the more depressed you allow this to get you, the thicker the shell.. the harder the armor.. you got this!!! you can do it, I believe in you.

As a 42 year old mom if there is anything I can tell you is please learn to love your self early. I’m just now learning this and it breaks my heart how much I devalued myself as a teen. Learn to love you and everything about you. Learn self care. Do what makes your heart happy even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone but you. Stand with confidence you don’t need them.

What school my daughter feels the same she has not been able to make any friends, she says the girls just say hi and walk away from her. She has tried so hard and feels so lonely too. Maybe you 2 can get together. She goes to Bonita high school

I’m so sorry. I hate how school seems to be. It’s so much worse for girls. My daughter lost friends after getting cancer and goes back to 10th in a week. She lost everyone and I remind her daily that college will be different. You’ll be surrounded by people with the same interests verse just being born in the same town like high school.
