Ripple just teamed with Clearpool and Cicada Partners to build real institutional lending directly on the XRP Ledger. Here’s how it works. Cicada finds the borrowers, sets the loan terms, and manages the credit risk. This is a firm that’s already underwritten over 860 million dollars in credit. Clearpool them builds the lending infrastructure - and they’ve processed over 930 million dollars in institutional loans since 2021. Ripple then steps in as an investor, putting real capital into the fund right alongside them. The loans go out in Ripple’s regulated Stablecoin RLUSD- so Fintechs and payment companies can borrow funds for working capital, and they repay it in RLUSD. XRP powers the whole thing under the hood and it’s what the network runs on to move that capital and keep accounts active on the ledger. And this isn’t yield farming.
