I say, they could have worked better, if their storyline would’ve been more a slow burn friends to lovers plot. Then the ending of him running through London and making that speech at her wedding would have a much bigger impact and it wouldn’t make Lizzie look a little bit less of a bad friend. It would show that her feelings for Theo weren’t something she planned, something both maybe fought and ignored, but became inevitable.
