when you donate/ get rid of books, do you just bring them to your local goodwill or something? My local thrift stores and places like goodwill won’t take books… I never know what to do with them 😭 I desperately need to go through my books soon, but I’m lost what to do with them lol

Mine are randomly scattered around the house grouped by different themes. I keep male biographies with male centered books and same goes for female bios and female centered books, but then I group those into weird girl books and non weird girl books. I even have a separate group for books about witches. Then I group some publishers together like penguin classics or NYRB. Then books about animals or bugs and anything random go in another stack. Nothing is sorted alphabetically, but I do keep authors together.

I sort by language, then each language into its own categories that make sense inside my head. Fiction by literary movement, non fiction by whatever it is (history, memoir, specialty) but then I make an exception and keep poetry in the same place despite there being books in 4 languages stacked around.
