i'm so thankful na sila yung naging parents ko. hindi man sila nakaka-attend sa every recognition ko, i completely understand why. busy si mama sa bahay, and if she attends, wala namang mag-aalaga sa mga kapatid ko and wala ring magbabantay sa tindahan namin. si papa naman, syempre, nasa work siya, kaya hindi ako nagtatampo sa kanila. but sometimes, i still wish they could be there with me when i walk up the stage. whenever i see other parents accompanying their children, especially when i'm with my friends and their parents, i can't help but wish na sana kasama ko rin sila. pero okay lang, because when i get home, nagpapapicture na lang ako with them, and every recognition, they always tell me, “proud na proud kami sa'yo.” those simple words mean so much to me, and honestly, they can make my whole day. they make me feel so loved, appreciated, and grateful that i have them as my parents. they always remind me too, “wag masyado mag-stress, ha. okay lang hindi makakuha ng mataas na grado, at least pumasa,” and i know they say that because they don't want me to put too much pressure on myself. but i still want to get good grades, not because they expect it from me, but because i want to somehow repay all their sacrifices, hard work, and support. i know they don't ask for anything in return, but i want them to know that all their efforts are not wasted. maybe they can't always be there when i receive my awards, but i know they're always there in their own way, and that's something i'll always be grateful for. i may not always get to have that picture with them on the stage, but i'll always carry their words, their sacrifices, and their love with me. and someday, i hope i can give back to them and make them feel that all the things they did for me were worth it.
