@legally_brunette_daily: The pressure can really get to applicants and seeing that the number of applicants is as high as the Great Recession (which honestly look at our economy) is really really hard. #lawschool #lawschoolapplicant #lawschooladvice #t14 #lawschooladmissions
I don’t even want to go to a T14. I just want to get into a non predatory T100 with a good scholarship in my home state. It’s feeling impossible w these median increases and making me feel doubtful and discouraged…along w the loan caps

LSAT medians are so high because now ppl can cancel their scores AFTER seeing the score. So ppl keep canceling and retaking until it’s really high! Not to mention the sky rocking ADA accommodations for extra time on the test. Just ridiculous.

I wish I knew. If gpa score was the only thing they cared about I could’ve just taken an easy major and gotten straight As instead of doing a double major and minor in the honors program at my school to try to have a more well rounded skill set

I wish they looked at your degree gpa only and that it should be adjusted to a 4 point scale. I think it’s unfair that my gpa looks low because my school had a 4 point scale with no +/- and someone else gets extra points because their school did give +/-.

mind you, it’s mostly competitive bc ppl are getting pushed down to lower rank schools bc we genuinely can’t afford to go to bigger ones anymore. like im just so tired i just wanna get into A fkin school at this point

I applied 3 years ago to my top 2 schools one the very last day of applications and got WL at both. Applied this cycle with 3 years of big law paralegal WE, amazing letters of rec, a higher LSAT, way better personal statement and the first 2 weeks of applications and got rejected at both😂 so it’s kind of insane

The medians are genuinely insane. You need basically a perfect GPA which will incentivize people to just choose easy classes. A “good” LSAT for t14 is now like a 173 which is such an insane benchmark as well.

Also law school shouldn’t be a backup plan it’s very hard work being an attorney - even once you get out of school. You need to want it, not default to it.

My theory is that it’s more competitive because the market is terrible. I’m fairly certain that there is data that shows bad markets directly increase the rates at which people apply to professional schools, like law school and MBA programs. More applicants = a bigger talent pool, and those who traditionally would be accepted into T14 schools are now being rejected and now have to settle on T2 schools; and likewise, people who would normally be accepted into T2s now have to settle on T3s.

It’s more competitive but it feels like everything is getting stupider and the law is less relevant

The rates of college students is dropping though. So if you wait a few years the law schools will be desperate for applicants

took my 153 and applied with it because i genuinely just want to get into school. will bust my ass when my 1L starts but im not about to let a standardized test predict my ability to learn and excel in the profession when the standards are becoming insurmountable.
