I saw Aaron Pierre for the first time on Rebel Ridge and immediately saw the possibility of him playing John Stewart so for me it was straight up fan casting coming to real life when he got cast.

Is it explained in the comics how do green lanterns build a "functional" car or a watch? do they instinctively know? the powers of the ring fill in the gap knowledge? Because this is the same thing that happens with Atom Eve in Invincible, and she famously cant create real things that work properly because of the inner workings of said things that she doesn't know
