My issue at this point isn’t even whether Lindsey Clancy is innocent or guilty. My issue is that, from everything I’ve seen, I believe both parents failed those babies. Both had a responsibility to protect them, both were aware that something was seriously wrong, and I believe both should be held accountable for the role their decisions played in what happened. I don’t mean just morally accountable, either. I believe both should face criminal charges and be prosecuted, with a court determining each person’s individual level of legal responsibility based on the evidence. I’m an independent, so I’m not looking at this through some political or ideological lens. I’m looking at it as a parent. Those children deserved adults who protected them, and they were failed.
