@o.enelle.o: My ultimate fantasy book guide! I broke down books into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Disclaimer: I know I haven’t read that many books so this list is just based on what I have read! I also forgot to mention a lot of other books but I’ve accepted it. #BookTok #bookrecommendation #bookrecs #fantasybooks #tbr
Girl I was into romance when I wss 15. Then I stopped reading book for about 6 years. And I made the drastic decision I did not want any romance at all anymore and wanted to try a fantasy. it took me so long to buy a book because I was scared I wouldn't like it. I bought The Will of the Many, and OH MY GOD. Now I'm scared I'll never find something THIS GOOD.

I do think Wheel of Time is daunting because of the size but in my opinion it is very easy to follow as you read!

I definitely wouldn't put Piranesi and Babel on the in the same category as the Malazan series, they are both way less complex than the latter 🤔

Not sure id put legendborn for beginners 😭 don’t get me wrong its a fab book but the magic system and the plot is really convoluted and has so many elements to it that it’s quite hard to remember. Maybe this is just be a me thing but I’ve had loads of people share this opinion so idk 🤷♀️

I would start with the Arrows Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey, The Belgariad series by David Eddings (buy the books secondhand or get from a library) and The Song of the Lioness quartet by Tamora Pierce. All are easy to read, are complete and have other books in their 'universe' that are just as good as the above ones.
Magician by Raymond E Feist (first book in the Riftwar Saga and the first in a multi series called the Riftwar Cycle), The Magicans Guild by Trudi Canavan in the immediate reads
Also Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms books, the Myth books by Robert Asprin(?) are great and can be read between immediate and beginner.
Lastly you have the big ones, Wheel of Time, Stormlight Archives, Malazan, but also branch out and try some older series like The Dragon Prince series by Melanie Rawn, anything by Sara Douglass, or Second Sons by Jennifer Fallon.

I personally recommend reading the shadow and bone trilogy before the six of crows duology, purely because they we written before and her writing style only evolves with each book which makes the reading experience a lot smoother :)
