Could reading 1 surah a day not do the same thing since you get a good deed for every letter you read in the quran. Muhammad SAW said "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter". And by 1 surah I mean the aversge length surah eg. Suratul Kahf Suratul TaHa etc
