@dastrodoesmarketing: Ump ruins little league World Series with the worst call in the history of the sport just so he could be the man and call a strike in a big moment. #littleleague #sports #espn
So tired of “it’s little league so they have a bigger zone”. It’s either a fucking strike or not.

Is this your first time watching the LLWS? These volunteer umps do great. Strike all day at this level.

there is no strike zone on the planet where a ball 3 inches outside the plate should be considered a strike

This is bad. Fortunately we won't have to see human umpires soon.

As long as he’s calling that for both teams, it’s part of the game

If you are going to volunteer, be good at it. Simple. The kids played over 20 games to get there. The parents, coaches, etc have spent time and money on the experience. Quit making excuses. It wasn’t close.

I don’t have an opinion about the call. I do think it’s asinine that anyone would say that one strike call can cost any team any game. You have six innings to play in Little league, so what were the missed opportunities in innings one through five? What bad pitches were swung at? What base running errors occurred? What defensive errors occurred? How many times did their pitcher leave a pitch in the sweet spot? There are lots of events that can happen in a ball game, so blaming a game on one call is disingenuous at best. Where are all the videos showing the excellent calls? You know, the other 95% of them. Clickbait at its finest.

if the game hinged on one pitch in the sixth inning then that's bad on the team. good game and I am sure both teams had opportunities to score throughout the game

It’s that grey area with umpires. They’ll either call that a strike or ball all day. Batting team should’ve been aware of that by that point in the game. Pitcher knew what he was doing

If you’re going to put it on TV and sell advertising, umps need to be legit.

What difference does it matter what spot this batter was in the lineup? People saying swing back if it’s close. It wasn’t even close.

Yes horrible call but the catcher frame is taught and also if you swing the bat you can hit that that’s why it was called a strike in little league

It was close but definitely a ball. The umps do great. Maybe in the future the coaches can challenge the calls.
